Peripheral Artery Disease (P.A.D.) Screening
P.A.D. is a condition that raises the risk of heart attack and stroke.
This free 30-minute screening is for individuals 50 years and older with a history of tobacco use, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, or for those experiencing numbness or pain in the lower legs or feet while walking that resides upon rest.
The P.A.D. screening consists of a non-invasive procedure using blood pressure cuffs and a small ultrasound device to measure and compare the blood pressures at the ankles and upper arms. The ankle-brachial index (ABI) can help indicate if you are at risk for P.A.D.
To qualify for this screening you must be 50 years or older, able to lie flat on your back for 30 minutes, not have any recent injuries resulting in bruising to your upper or lower extremities, and not have any blood clots in your arms or legs.
