Ascension Providence Birthing Center Tour
Join a member of our team for a tour of our Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Alternative Birth Center (ABC) units.
Any current or prospective patient is invited to attend a free tour of our Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Alternative Birth Center (ABC) units.
Low-risk individuals seeking a low-intervention, high-touch experience in a homelike environment are also invited to attend our free virtual ABC orientation on the second Wednesday of every month. Register for the virtual ABC Orientation HERE.
Who can I bring?
We encourage bringing your labor support companion. At this time, each registrant is permitted one support person. Please only register one person for this tour and note the additional person in the field indicated.
Where should I park and go?
Use the Main Entrance of the hospital off of 9 mile Rd. Parking in the lot is free. Proceed to the DePaul lobby and check in with the receptionist. You will receive a map and instructions prior to your tour date. Please save this email for reference.
What is the difference between the different units?
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit is our main family birthing center. The unit includes a OB ED triage rooms, private labor and delivery suites, pre-op/post-op care areas, and operating rooms.
The Postpartum unit includes private mother-baby rooms intended for a postpartum stay after recovery is complete in L&D.
The Alternative Birthing Center (ABC) unit is our low-risk, low-intervention and high touch birthing center. Those interested in this option are invited to attend a free, virtual orientation/photo tour of the unit. You can register HERE
Can I take photos or a video of the tour?
Cameras are not permitted on the tour. However, our PDF Tour Page has some great photos you are welcome to share!
Do you offer any prenatal classes?
Yes! We try to offer classes for every type of learner and schedule. We have a variety of classes to choose! Please visit our Ascension Providence Childbirth Education Homepage to see a full list of our classes and get started. Some classes also come with tours, please contact us if you are interested!
If your class required payment, a refund will be given if a cancellation request is received 2 business days (48 hours) prior to the start of the class/program. Ascension Providence reserves the right to cancel classes with less than 5 registrants. A full refund will be given for any class cancelled by the site.
